Weddings


Thank you for wanting to enquire about being prepared for marriage and having the wedding service at Trinity Uniting Church in Brighton.

To book a wedding at Trinity, you are required to:

  1. Make an appointment to see the Minister. This is best achieved by completing the contact form on the site, and the Minister will contact you to arrange a mutually agreeable time to discuss your wedding plans.

  2. Bring birth certificates. –  Please note the Government requires evidence of your identity through a full birth certificate (or an extract of your birth certificate) for persons born in Australia. An overseas passport is necessary for persons born overseas. If it is to be a second marriage for one or both of you then evidence of how your previous marriage ended is also required.

  3. Pay a non refundable deposit (currently $300.00).


Who may be married?

Anyone may be married at Trinity.

Who may marry us?

The Minister of Trinity Uniting Church will do the preparation with you, lead the Service and sign all the documents. The Minister may be assisted by a priest/minister from another church.

When can I get married?

You may be married on any day of the week, including Sunday afternoon. The following days are not available due to standard services:

  • Christmas Day
  • Easter Sunday
  • Holy Week (including Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Eve – Holy Saturday).


The Minister is happy to discuss all other dates and times with you.
